Canby High School Receives Rebate From Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company
Completes Upgrade To Energy-saving LED Lighting
With the help of rebates from Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company, Canby High School recently completed an energy-efficient lighting retrofit project.
The lighting retrofit, completed by Vlaminck Electric, consisted of replacing approximately 1,424 interior lights with light-emitting diode (LED) technology. LEDs are more energy-efficient when compared with other available lighting sources, using about 70 percent less energy than high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting. LEDs also have longer lives鈥攍asting four to five times longer than HIDs鈥攔esulting in increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
Projected savings are almost 60,000 kilowatt-hours annually. 鈥淭his project is a great example of capitalizing on an energy-efficiency opportunity to significantly reduce overall energy expense,鈥� said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Lori Moxness. 鈥淲ith our company鈥檚 $36,500 rebate, we project a two-year simple payback on this lighting project.鈥�
