Central Cass Schools received a $48,000 rebate from our company for upgrading to a new geothermal heating system.
In addition to the up-front rebate, the school will save approximately $59,000 in annual heating costs for upgrading the previous geothermal system to a new energy-efficient model, compared to a conventional electric heating system. 鈥淭hey also chose to install the new geothermal system on our off-peak Dual Fuel Rate instead of our standard electric rate, which will save them another $43,000 a year,鈥 said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Brad Nelson. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 more than $100,000 in combined annual savings.鈥
Geothermal heat pumps are among the most efficient and environmentally friendly heating and cooling systems on the market. They move free heat from underground into a building to keep it warm in the winter, and move heat out of the building to keep it cool in the summer.
The school is planning to start building improvements this spring, and replacing the geothermal system was a necessity. 鈥淲e were excited to learn of the rebate option, especially since the amount was significant,鈥 said Central Cass Schools Business Manager Pam Utt. 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to expanding our energy efficiency options even more as we remodel and add on to our school in the coming years.鈥
