Headwaters Science Center Receives Rebate From Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company
Headwaters Science Center in Bemidji has been illuminating minds in northern Minnesota for more than 25 years. This year it completed an upgrade to lighting, replacing older T8 and T12 fluorescent lights with light-emitting diode (LED) technology.
鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see an organization dedicated to science take advantage of the latest in lighting technology by installing LEDs,鈥� said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Roger Garton. 鈥淗elping with the cost, the center received a $4,800 rebate from Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company combined with a Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) Seed Grant of $8,200.鈥� The switch will save Headwaters Science Center an estimated $2,000 per year. The center also received an Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company rebate in 2019 for its completion of several energy-saving upgrades鈥攊nstalling Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostats and new heating and cooling equipment.
鈥淲e鈥檙e very pleased with聽the聽installation of new lights,鈥� said Headwaters Science Center Executive Director Lee Furuseth. 鈥淭his project would not have occurred without the rebates from Otter Tail AOA体育平台 and the grant from CERTs. The聽lighting is a huge聽improvement, and we have reduced energy bills.聽We鈥檙e looking forward to telling this story to our guests and聽visitors through a new exhibit dedicated to lighting technology.鈥澛�
