With the help of a rebate from Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company, Lakeland Public Television recently installed a 39.6-kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system.
Projected savings are more than 45,000 kilowatt-hours annually. 鈥淐ombining our $34,000 rebate with the simple payback brought the project from outside scope to implementation,鈥 said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Roger Garton. Lakeland Public Television also completed an upgrade to energy-saving LED lighting and implemented cost-effective geothermal heating and cooling systems. 鈥淚t鈥檚 encouraging to see a business take a leadership role in its community when it comes to efficiency and energy,鈥 said Garton.
Through Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company鈥檚 Publicly Owned Property (POP) Solar program, publicly owned facilities may qualify for a cash incentive by installing a solar PV system. Incentives include $1,250 per kW of installed nameplate direct capacity (DC), up to 50 percent of project costs, for systems less than 40 kW of nameplate DC capacity.
