Norman County East School Receives Rebate From Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company
Completes upgrade to energy-saving LED lighting
With the help of rebates from Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company, Norman County East School recently completed an energy-efficient lighting retrofit project.
The project consisted of replacing approximately 1,100 interior lights with light-emitting diode (LED) technology. LEDs are more energy efficient when compared with other available lighting sources, using about 70 percent less energy than high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting. LEDs also have longer lives鈥攍asting four to five times longer than HIDs鈥攔esulting in increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
Projected savings are almost 74,000 kilowatt-hours annually. 鈥淲ith our company鈥檚 $12,500 rebate, we project a simple payback of less than one year on this lighting project,鈥� said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Senior Commercial Industrial Representative Roger Garton. 鈥淔ollowing the school鈥檚 investment in high-efficiency heat pumps for its heating and cooling needs over the past years, it鈥檚 encouraging to see continued investment in energy-efficiency measures.鈥�
