City Upgrades Interior And Exterior Lights To LED
Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company presented a $52,750 rebate check to the city of Red Lake Falls for upgrading interior and exterior lighting to energy efficient light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs.
The city upgraded lighting in nine city-owned buildings and on roadways. Projected savings are more than 230,000 kilowatt-hours annually鈥攖he same usage as approximately 21 homes. Installation of motion sensors that turn lights off in unused areas of the buildings further reduces energy costs and lengthens LED life. 鈥淭his project is a great example of capitalizing on an energy efficiency opportunity to significantly reduce overall energy expense,鈥� said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Roger Garton. 鈥淚t鈥檚 encouraging to see a city lead by example when it comes to efficient lighting.鈥�
In fall 2017 Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company performed energy walkthroughs at many businesses in Red Lake Falls through the company鈥檚 Commercial Direct Install Program. During the free energy assessments, the company identified efficient lighting opportunities at area businesses eligible for rebates. 鈥淭hese quick, easy, and affordable measures have a direct and immediate impact on reducing energy bills,鈥� said Garton.
