Use caution near Hoot Lake project sites
Despite the cool and wet weather, it鈥檚 been a busy spring for our company. This week聽we marked a historic milestone, beginning construction at聽our first large-scale solar project, the 49-megawatt Hoot Lake Solar. We also continue deconstruction of buildings at Hoot Lake Plant, which聽we retired in May 2021.
Fergus Falls community members may notice some increased activity and traffic near the project areas. 鈥淧lease help us keep you and our employees safe by not entering project sites,鈥� said Brad Tollerson, Vice President, Energy Supply. 鈥淎nd keep a watchful eye for trucks and other equipment that may be moving slowly.鈥�
We'll finish work at Hoot Lake Plant later this year and plan to complete Hoot Lake Solar in 2023.聽
