West Central Area Secondary School Receives Rebate From Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company
Completes Geothermal Heat Pump Upgrades
With the help of rebates available through Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company鈥檚 Minnesota Conservation Improvement Program, West Central Area Secondary School recently completed an energy-efficient geothermal heat pump retrofit project.
Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company provided a rebate of $199,400 for this upgrade. A highly efficient renewable energy technology, geothermal heat pumps聽move聽heat instead of聽creating聽it, providing economical heating and cooling. They鈥檙e clean, safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly. 聽
Originally installed during the building鈥檚 construction, the geothermal heating system at West Central Secondary School鈥攚hile well maintained鈥攚as in need of an upgrade. The retrofit project included installing 70 heat pumps, totaling more than 400 tons of cooling refrigeration as part of a new geothermal heating system. 鈥淭his timely upgrade of a well-designed and well-used system will serve the district long into the future,鈥� said Otter Tail AOA体育平台 Company Energy Management Representative Lori Moxness.
